About NYC Well
NYC Well is New York City’s free, confidential support, crisis intervention, and information and referral service for anyone seeking help for mental health and/or substance misuse concerns, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
NYC Well is operated by Vibrant Emotional Health and Beacon Health Options on behalf of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
On November 23, 2015, First Lady Chirlane McCray announced the launch of ThriveNYC, a decisive turning point in the way New York City approaches mental health and substance misuse. ThriveNYC is an action plan to begin changing the way people think about mental health, and the way City government and its many partners deliver services. It includes 54 initiatives that address the mental health needs of New Yorkers at every stage of their lives. The City is investing $850 million in this work in its first four years. NYC Well is one of those 54 key investments. Learn more about Thrive NYC here.
